For example, you belong to an authority group allowed to make both local and long distance calls from your extension. Your secretary, however, belongs to a different authority group and can make only local calls. When you try to make a long distance call from your secretary's extension the ISG50 does not allow it and prompts you to enter the access code associated with your authority group. After you enter the access code, the ISG50 completes your long distance call without you having to re-dial it. Authority Groups and Extensions Basically, you can think of an authority group as a set of extensions. You use an authority group to assign equal rights to the entire set of extensions. Thus, an authority group is a group of extensions that all have the same authority. For example, if you create two authority groups, you can allow one group to make local calls and long distance calls and the second authority group to make local calls only.
