Caller ID Display Services on Analog PSTN Lines The ZyXEL Device supports Caller ID information on both phone ports. To use Caller ID Display you need a special telephone or display unit that can show and store incoming telephone numbers. 1.3 Applications for the ZyXEL Device Here are some example uses for which the ZyXEL Device is well suited. 1.3.1 Internet Access The ZyXEL Device is the ideal high-speed Internet access solution. Your ZyXEL Device supports the TCP/IP protocol, which the Internet uses exclusively. It is also compatible with access servers manufactured by major vendors such as Cisco and Ascend. A typical Internet access application is shown below. Figure 1 Internet Access Application 1.3.2 LAN-to-LAN Connection You can use the ZyXEL Device to connect two geographically dispersed networks over the ISDN line.
