This feature enables individuals that have computers with remote access capabilities to dial in to access the network resources without being physically in the office. Either PAP (Password Authentication Protocol) or CHAP (Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol) authentication can be used to control remote access. You can also use callback for security and/or accounting purposes. Figure 3 Remote Access 1.3.4 Secure Broadband Internet Access and VPN The ZyXEL Device provides IP address sharing and a firewall-protected local network with traffic management. The ZyXEL Device VPN feature is an ideal cost-effective way to connect branch offices and business partners over the Internet without the need (and expense) of leased lines between sites.
