Setting Up Sewing Utility Stitches APPLIQUE QUILTS N Use a blind hem stitch for applique quilts. 1. Trace the pattern onto the applique fabric and then cut around it. 1 Seam margin (0.3 to 0.5 mm) 2. Place a piece of thick paper cut to the finished size onto the fabric, and then fold over the seam margin using an iron. Turn the fabric over and sew basting stitches around the edge. N Attach monogramming foot "N" and then sew around the edge, while dropping the needle as close to the edge as possible. * When the automatic thread cutting and automatic reinforcement stitch are preset, reinforcement stitches will be sewn automatically at the start of sewing.
