Error Messages Message NOT REGISTERED OUT OF TONER CHANGE TONER OUTPUT TRAY FULL PAPER JAM PLATEN GLASS DIRTY CLEAN PLATEN GLASS RECEIVED IN MEMORY START AGAIN STOP KEY PRESSED PRESS OK KEY SYSTEM ERROR TONER LOW PREPARE NEW TONER TRANSMITTING... WASTE TONER FULL REPLACE THE DRUM Description No destination is registered for the one-touch key or coded dial code you pressed. - A toner cartridge is not installed or not installed correctly. - The toner ran out completely. The paper delivery tray is full of paper. Paper jams have occurred in the machine. The ADF scanning area on the left side of the platen glass may be dirty. The machine received the fax/I-fax in memory because paper or toner ran out, paper jams occurred, or incorrect size paper was loaded. - A transmission error occurred because the line condition was poor. - The paper jammed or ran out during printing a report. [Stop] has been pressed while scanning the document using the ADF. Some kind of error has occurred in the machine. The toner is running low. During the current transmission, the machine may have tried to send a document identified from the list of documents in memory. The drum unit is filled with waste toner. Action Register the destinations before using the Address Book function. - Install the toner cartridge correctly. - Replace the toner cartridge. Remove the printouts from the paper delivery tray. Remove the jammed paper. The cover must be opened and closed to resume the current job. Clean the ADF scanning area, then press [OK]. Load the correct size paper in the paper drawer, replace the toner cartridge, or clear the paper jams. For more information, see the following: "Setting Paper Type and Size," on p. 2-13 "Replacing the Toner Cartridge," on p. 12-9 "Clearing Jams," on p. 13-2 - Check the line condition, then try again. - Clear the paper jam, or replenish the paper, then try again. Press [OK], then set the document again. Turn off the main power switch, wait for more than 10 seconds, then turn it on again. If the message persists, unplug the machine from the power supply and contact your local authorized Canon dealer. Prepare a new toner cartridge. Wait until the transmission from memory is complete.
