Removing the Diskette Drive Protector Card, Setting Up Your System

Removing the Diskette Drive Protector Card A protective piece of cardboard occupies the slot of the diskette drive in your computer. This card is inserted at the factory to protect the read/write heads in the drive. Be sure to remove the card from the diskette drive before you turn on the computer. Turn the diskette drive latch up until it is horizontal and carefully pull out the card. Save the protector card and reinsert it whenever you move the computer. If you don't plan to use your computer for a week or more, reinsert the card to help prevent dust from entering the disk drive. Setting Up Your System 1-3
