4. Press Y and Enter to begin formatting the extended partition. The screen continuously displays the changing head and cylinder numbers. When the procedure is complete, you see the following message: Format Complete Volume Label (11 characters, ENTER for none) 5. It is a good idea to enter a name (volume label) for drive D, to protect it from being accidentally reformatted later. If you want to do this, type up to 11 characters and press Enter.
