7 Disabling or enabling ISL trunking Disabling or enabling ISL trunking The trunking feature requires using Web Tools with the EGM license. If you attempt to use this feature without the EGM license, the following error message displays. FIGURE 62 Missing EGM license When the trunking license is activated, trunks are automatically established on eligible ISLs and trunking capability is enabled by default on all ports. Use the following procedure to disable trunking on a port or to re-enable trunking if it has been disabled. Trunking is not supported on logical ports or GbE ports. 1. Click a port in the Switch View to open the Port Admin window (Figure 53 on page 96). 2. Click the FC Ports tab. Trunking mode does not apply to GbE ports. 3. From the tree on the left, click the switch name or slot name. 4. From the table, select the port that you want to trunk. You can select multiple ports from the table. You cannot select multiple ports from the tree. Trunking mode does not apply to logical ports. 5. Click the Show Advanced Mode of Ports Admin. If the button is unavailable, the port is already in that state. 6. Click Yes in the confirmation window. Admin Domain considerations You can enable and disable trunking for a port only when the current Admin Domain owns the switch. You can log into a switch that is not in your Admin Domain, but most of the functionality will be unavailable. F_Port trunking should not be configured in physical fabric/255 mode. 114 Web Tools Administrator's Guide 53-1001343-01
