3 Tests and Diagnostics 3.1 The Diagnostic Test You will need the following equipment to perform some of the Diagnostic test programs. q The Diagnostics Disk (all tests) q A formatted working disk for the floppy disk drive test q An external FDD attachment q A cleaning kit to clean the floppy disk drive heads (Head Cleaning) q A cleaning kit to clean the DVD-ROM drive heads (Head Cleaning) q A PC card wraparound connector for the I/O card test (Expansion test) q Port Replicator q A printer wraparound connector for the printer wraparound test (Printer test) q A CD test media (TOSHIBA CD-ROM TEST DISK (ZA1217P01/P000204190) and music CD) (CD-ROM test) q A DVD test media (Toshiba-EMI DVD-ROM TEST DISK TSD-1) q External CRT (Display test) q PS/2 or compatible keyboard (Keyboard test) q PS/2 or compatible mouse (Keyboard test) q Serial port wraparound connector (ASYNC test) q Headphone (Sound test) q CD-ROM drive (CD-ROM test) q A microphone q A modular cable and RJ11 connector checker q A modular cable and RJ11 connector checker (LED) q USB test module and USB cable q LAN wraparound connector q Music CD (CD-ROM/DVD-ROM test) The following sections detail the tests within the Diagnostic Test function of the DIAGNOSTIC TEST MENU.
