3.6 Keyboard Test 3 Tests and Diagnostics 3.6 Keyboard Test To execute the Keyboard Test, select 3 from the DIAGNOSTIC TEST MENU, press Enter and follow the directions on the screen. Move the highlight bar to the subtest you want to execute and press Enter. Subtest 02 Pressed key code display When a key is pressed, the scan code, character code, and key top name are displayed on the screen in the format shown below. The Ins Lock, Caps Lock, Num Lock, Scroll Lock, Alt, Ctrl, Left Shift, and Right Shift keys are displayed in reverse screen mode when pressed. The scan codes, character codes, and key top names are shown in Appendix D. The USB TEST Module (ZD0003P01) and USB Cable (ZD0003P02) must be connected to the computer. If the test is completed successfully, OK is displayed. If nothing is displayed, there may be a problem with the USB port. Check the wraparound connection and repeat the test. To check only the USB mouse, follow the procedures below: Connect the USB mouse to the USB connector of the computer. Subtest 05
USB port 0, 1 test
This subtest checks USB. The USB TEST Module (ZD0003P01) and USB Cable
(ZD0003P02) must be connected to the computer.
If the test is completed successfully, OK is displayed. If nothing is displayed, there
may be a problem with the USB port. Check the wraparound connection and
repeat the test.
To check only the USB mouse, follow the procedures below:
Connect the USB mouse to the USB connector of the computer.
Next, set the computer’s hardware Setup as follows: (Refer to 3.23 SETUP)
PERIPHERAL
Pointing Devices = Simultaneous
USB Legacy Emulation = Enabled
Then, perform the Pointing Stick Diagnostic Test and make sure:
The cursor moves in the direction that you move the USB mouse.
