3.8 Floppy Disk Test 3 Tests and Diagnostics Select the number of the subtest you want to execute and press Enter. The following message will appear during the floppy disk test. When the subtest 04 or 05 is selected, the following messages will appear on the screen. Select the test data (subtest 04 only), track number and head number you want to test. Subtest 01 Sequential read This subtest performs a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) that continuously reads all the tracks (track: 0 to 39/0 to 79) on a floppy disk. Subtest 02 Sequential read/write This subtest continuously writes data pattern B5ADADh to all the tracks (track: 0 to 39/0 to 79) on a floppy disk. The data is then read and compared to the original data. Subtest 03 Random address/data This subtest writes random data to random addresses on all tracks (track: 0 to 39/0 to 79) on a floppy disk. The data is then read and compared to the original data. Subtest 04 Write specified address This subtest writes the data specified by an operator to a specified track, head, and address.
