3.23 SETUP 3 Tests and Diagnostics Changing HDD Password 1. Move the highlight bar to the "Registered" of the "User Password" and press space bar or BkSp. 2. Enter the registered password and press Enter. "User Password" is displayed instead of the "New User Password". If the entered password is different from the registered password, an error message is displayed. Retry this procedure. 3. Enter a new password and press Enter. "New User Password" is displayed instead of the "Verify User Password". 4. Enter the password entered in the procedure 3 above again and press Enter. The password is changed. If the password entered in the procedure 3 above is different from the password entered in the procedure 4, error message is displayed. Retry procedure 3 above. NOTE: When "Master+User" is selected in "HDD Password Mode", enter Master HDD password in procedure 2. Master HDD password can be entered instead of User HDD password. In this case, User HDD password can be changed by using Master HDD password. Entering the HDD Password When the HDD password is set, the following message is displayed at the time the PC is turned on. HDD Password = 1. Enter the registered password and press Enter. NOTE: Set the Arrow Mode and Numeric Mode to the condition when the password was registered. Check it by the Arrow Mode LED and Numeric Mode LED. If the wrong HDD password is entered three consecutive times, the computer will boot from drives other than HDD. When a drive other than HDD is not set, the computer will turn off automatically. Turn on the computer again. CAUTION: HDD password can not be released by maintenance service. If you forget the HDD password, HDD must be changed to solve this problem. Changing a HDD is charged.
