4 Replacement Procedures 4.1 General Removing the Battery Pack To remove the battery pack, follow the steps below and refer to figure 4-1. CAUTION: When handling battery packs, be careful not to short circuit the terminals. Also do not drop, hit or otherwise apply impact; do not scratch or break the casing and do not twist or bend the battery pack. 1. Turn the computer upside down with the back of the computer facing you. 2. Lift up the battery lock and slide the battery release latch to free the battery pack for removal. 3. Pull the battery pack forward to remove it. NOTE: For environmental reasons, do not throw away a spent battery pack. Please follow local ordinances or regulations for its disposal.
