CHAPTER 2 As the friction between envelopes is weak when ened two or more envelopes are fed simultaneously (multi-feed), the rotating force of the lower roller is not strong enough to keep the upper roller rotating in its original direction. The upper roller therefore rotates in the opposite direction to the pick-up direction (shown by white arrows in figure 2-8-4 below) Any extra envelopes are returned to the feeder while only one is sent through into the printer.
