Therefore, when connecting the tester be sure to touch a metal part of the printer with your hand to discharge any electrostatic energy. < Follow the procedure below when checking envelope feeder operations > 1) Turn the printer power OFF. 2) Remove the rear cover. (See Chap. 3 of the Service Manual.) 3) Connect the tester connector 2 to connector (J212) on the DC controller PCB. 4) Attach the clip to a metallic part of the printer. 5) Turn the printer power ON after installing the envelope feeder in the printer. 6) When the printer has entered standby mode, use the tester to check operations.
