CHAPTER 2 E. Pick-up/Feed System 1. Outline Presence of paper in the paper deck is detected by the tray paper-out sensor (PS33), and the remaining amount of paper is detected by outputs from the paper-level sensing switch 1 (SW601) and paper-level sensing switch 2 (SW602). The combination of the two paper-level sensing switches is shown in table 2-10-1. The size of the paper is detected by a combination of 4 paper-size sensing switches (SW701 704), which are shown table 2-10-2. After receiving a pick-up command from the option controller the paper deck driver rotates the pick-up motor (SMT31), and simultaneously turns the pick-up solenoid (SL31) ON. The pick-up roller, feed roller1 and the separation roller then rotate sending a sheet of paper. The paper sent into the feed unit passes through the registration paper sensor (PS31) and stops momentarily at the registration roller. The registration clutch (CL32) is then turned ON, and the paper is sent through into the printer. The two photointerrupters (PS31,PS32) in the feed path detect the paper as it reaches and passes through them. If the paper does not reach or pass through the various sensors in the designated time, the paper deck driver assesses a paper jam and notifies the option controller while stopping the operation. E.
Pick-up/Feed System
1.
Outline
Presence of paper in the paper deck is detected by the tray paper-out sensor (PS33), and the
remaining amount of paper is detected by outputs from the paper-level sensing switch 1 (SW601)
and paper-level sensing switch 2 (SW602).
The combination of the two paper-level sensing
switches is shown in table 2-10-1.
The size of the paper is detected by a combination of 4 paper-size sensing switches (SW701 -
704), which are shown table 2-10-2.
After receiving a pick-up command from the option controller the paper deck driver rotates
the pick-up motor (SMT31), and simultaneously turns the pick-up solenoid (SL31) ON.
The
pick-up roller, feed roller1 and the separation roller then rotate sending a sheet of paper.
The paper sent into the feed unit passes through the registration paper sensor (PS31) and stops
momentarily at the registration roller.
The registration clutch (CL32) is then turned ON, and the
paper is sent through into the printer.
The two photointerrupters (PS31,PS32) in the feed path detect the paper as it reaches and
passes through them.
If the paper does not reach or pass through the various sensors in the
designated time, the paper deck driver assesses a paper jam and notifies the option controller
while stopping the operation.
