Table 1-7. System Messages (continued) Message Causes Corrective Actions ROM bad checksum Expansion card improperly = address installed or faulty. Reseat the expansion card(s). Ensure that all appropriate cables are securely connected to the expansion card(s). If the problem persists, see "Troubleshooting Expansion Cards" on page 158. Sector not found Faulty hard drive, USB Seek error device, or. USB medium. Seek operation failed See "Troubleshooting a USB Device" on page 143 or "Troubleshooting a Hard Drive" on page 155 for the appropriate drive(s) installed in your system. Shutdown failure Shutdown test failure. See "Troubleshooting System Memory" on page 150. The amount of Memory has been added or system memory has removed or a memory changed module may be faulty. If memory has been added or removed, this message is informative and can be ignored. If memory has not been added or removed, check the SEL to determine if single-bit or multi-bit errors were detected and replace the faulty memory module.
