The input value is written in the specific address of the EEPROM. Refer to Figure 5-12. The value 0 (blue) appears in the center of the screen and changes the value by clicking the up/down icon. Apply the value for the most properly aligned pattern in the Bi-D adjustment pattern print. You can change the value by input the suitable value directly from the key board. In case the + value is input, the 2nd vertical printed pattern is shift to the left side. And in case the - value is input, the 2nd vertical printed pattern is shift to the right side. Figure 5-12. Input the suitable value 5. To confirm if the adjustment value is suitable, click the "Previous" button and go back to the "Bi-Directional adjustment items" menu. 6. Choose the "Print the Bi-D adjustment patter" and click the "OK" button. 7. Check if the all 3 vertical line is alined correctly in the adjusted dot size pattern. If you can watch the misaligned pattern, repeat the step 3 to Step10 until the Bi-d adjustment pattern is alined. 5.1.7 USB ID input When you replace the main board with a new one, you have to input the USB ID newly into the specific address of the EEPROM. When the Printer and the PC are connected with a USB cable, the USB port driver loads the unique code from the specific address of the printer's EEPROM and the provides the USB port number to the unique code. The USB port driver controls the several USB ports under the Windows 98 environment. A unique code called USB ID is input to the specific address of the EEPROM in our manufactory and the following total 18-digit code is used as a USB ID for the EPSON ink jet printer.
