Foreword 13.7 Nearest Airspace The Nearest Airspace Page, alerts you to as many as 25 controlled or special Getting Started use airspaces near or in your flight path. Alerts are provided according to the following conditions: Audio & Xpdr Ctrl • If your projected course will take you inside an airspace within the Com/Nav next ten minutes, the alert message "AIRSPACE ALERT - Airspace entry in less than 10 minutes" appears. The Nearest Airspace Page shows the FPL airspace as "Airspace Ahead." • If you are within two nautical miles of an airspace and your current Direct-To course will take you inside, the message "AIRSPACE ALERT - Within 2nm of airspace" appears. The Nearest Airspace Page shows the air- Proc space as "Airspace Within 2 NM." Charts • If you are within two nautical miles of an airspace and your current course will take you inside in less than 10 minutes, the message "AIR- Wpt Info SPACE ALERT - Airspace within 2nm and entry in less than 10 minutes" appears. The Nearest Airspace Page shows the airspace as "Ahead < Map 2 NM." Traffic • If you have entered an airspace, the message "AIRSPACE ALERT - Inside Airspace" appears. The Nearest Airspace Page shows "Inside of Terrain airspace." Note that the airspace alerts are based on three-dimensional data (latitude, Weather longitude and altitude) to avoid nuisance alerts. The alert boundaries for controlled airspace are also sectorized to provide complete information on Nearest any nearby airspace. Once one of the described conditions exists, the message annunciator flashes, alerting you of an airspace message (if airspace alert messages Music are enabled). See System-Alerts to set the Arrival Alert Proximity, Airspace Type, Utilities and Altitude Buffer values.
