134 Your HTC Wildfire user guide Changing advanced settings 1. On the Viewfinder screen, tap to open the menu panel. 2. Tap in the menu panel to display the Settings menu and access more camera settings. The following are settings that you can change from the Settings menu: White balance ISO (photo mode only) Resolution Quality (photo mode only) Self-timer (photo mode only) Geo-tag photos (photo mode only) Encoding type (video mode only) Recording length (video mode only) Record with audio (video mode only) Metering mode Review duration Flicker adjustment Auto Focus Shutter sound Time stamp (photo mode only) Grid (photo mode only) Reset to default White balance enables the camera to capture colors more accurately by adjusting to your current lighting environment. White balance settings include: Auto, Incandescent, Fluorescent, Daylight, and Cloudy. You can choose an ISO level or set it back to Auto. Higher ISO numbers are better for taking pictures in low light conditions. Select a photo or video resolution to use for capturing. Select the quality level to use for capturing photos. If you need to take a self-portrait or group photo, you can set the self-timer to either 2 or 10 seconds. Select this check box when you want to store GPS location in your captured photos. Choose the type of video compression. Set the maximum duration or file size for capturing video. Select or clear the check box, depending on whether you want to record audio when capturing videos. Set how the camera measures the amount of light to calculate the best exposure: Spot metering mode allows the camera to measure light around the focus point. Center area mode allows the camera to measure light in the center. Average mode allows the camera to measure light in the whole image. Set the time for a captured photo or video to be displayed on the Review screen before the camera changes back to the Viewfinder screen. When taking indoor shots under fluorescent lighting, keep this setting on Auto or change it to the proper frequency (50Hz or 60Hz) of the power in your country to reduce flicker. This option enables or disables centered auto focus. Auto focus is enabled by default. Select or clear this check box, depending on whether you want the camera to play a shutter sound when you press the shutter release. Select this check box when you want the date and time to be added on captured photos. Select this check box when you want to display a grid on the Viewfinder screen so you can easily frame and center your subject before taking the photo. Tap to change the camera back to default settings.
