5. Configure the necessary disk enclosures for full-bus operation. See "Configuration Switches" on page 142. Set the disk enclosure DIP switches on both BCC A and BCC B to the following settings for full-bus operation: sw1=1 (This switch is set to 0 for split-bus mode.) sw2=0 sw3=0 sw4=0 sw5=0 6. Install SCSI terminators on each disk enclosure. Install a SCSI Terminator on the right-most connector on both the BBC A and BCC B cards. CAUTION An incorrectly terminated SCSI bus can cause data loss. 7. Install the SCSI cabling between the controller enclosure and the disk enclosures. Use your expanded configuration diagram to determine how to connect the SCSI cabling. A single SCSI cable will be used to connect each full-bus disk enclosure to the controller enclosure. Note To simplify disk array management, it is recommended that the SCSI cabling be connected to the disk enclosures according to where in the rack the enclosure is installed. The disk enclosure closest to the controller enclosure should be connected to SCSI channel 0. Moving down the rack, the next disk enclosure should be connected to channel 1, the next to channel 2, and so on. 178 Adding Disk Enclosures to Increase Capacity
