Useful Information Voice mail system/automated attendant system/answering system Problem Cause and Solution The Automated Attendant System or Answering System is on, but incoming messages are not recorded. L The remaining recording time or the number of messages which can still be recorded is 0. Erase unnecessary messages (pages 54, 59 and 78). "Message full" is displayed on the base unit, and no new messages are recorded. L The remaining recording time or the number of messages which can still be recorded is 0. Erase unnecessary messages (page 59). I cannot access my mailbox by pressing F on the base unit, or M.box on the cordless handset. L Make sure that the base unit/cordless handset is in standby mode. L If four cordless handsets or the base unit and three cordless handsets are in use, you cannot access the mailbox. Try again later. L If the Automated Attendant System or Answering System is responding to four calls on separate lines, you cannot access the mailbox. Try again later. L You are too far from the base unit. Walk closer to the base unit. L If "Enter mailbox password" is displayed, the direct handset access mode is OFF. Enter the mailbox password and press Next . I cannot access a mailbox from a touch tone phone. L The Automated Attendant System or Answering System may not respond if the tones are too short to activate the unit. Press each key firmly. While recording a greeting message, the unit starts to ring and stops recording. L To answer the call, press the called line key. The recording will stop. Start from the beginning after hanging up. During playback, incoming call tone is heard. L To answer the call, press the called line key. To resume playback, press "F" after hanging up. The display does not show the name and/or number of the caller whose message is being played. L If the caller's name is not stored in the Caller List, the caller's information will not be displayed. The unit does not alert your cell phone/paging device. L The number has been entered incorrectly. L Line 1 was busy and the call to the alert number could not be made.
