Tip: If there are three consecutive songs as shown in the following diagram, erasing the middle song will create a new blank area that is independent of the other blank area. Now you can either record a new song in the blank area, or extend the length of Song 1. Splitting a song into two (Song Divide) Song Divide is a function that splits a song into two parts. The Program Play function (page 71) can be used to rearrange the playback order of the newly-divided parts. 1. Locate to the point at which you wish to divide the song, and stop or pause playback. 2. Press the EDIT button. Then rotate the DATA dial to make the display read "Song Divide," and press the ENTER button. The display will ask "Divide EXE?" If you decide to cancel the Song Divide operation, press the EXIT button now. 3. Press the ENTER button once again to execute the Song Divide operation. When the song has been divided, the TOC will automatically be updated. If markers had been placed in the original song, markers earlier than the Divide point will remain in the original song, and markers following the Divide point will be renumbered as markers of the new song. -Owner's Manual

Splitting a song into two (Song Divide)
Song Divide is a function that splits a song into two parts. The Program Play function
(page 71) can be used to rearrange the playback order of the newly-divided parts.
1.
Locate to the point at which you wish to divide the song, and stop or pause
playback.
2.
Press the EDIT button. Then rotate the DATA dial to make the display read
Song Divide,
and press the ENTER button.
The display will ask “Divide EXE?” If you decide to cancel the Song Divide operation, press the
EXIT button now.

Press the ENTER button once again to execute the Song Divide operation.
When the song has been divided, the TOC will automatically be updated.
If markers had been placed in the original song, markers earlier than the Divide point will
remain in the original song, and markers following the Divide point will be renumbered as
markers of the new song.
Tip:
