8. Changing the Sound of Voices (Voice Edit) 1 CUTOFF (Filter Cutoff Frequency Knob 1] BPF Band-pass filter [Settings] -64 ~ +63 Relative Sets the filter cutoff frequency. Positive values move the cutoff toward higher frequencies, while negative values move the cutoff toward lower frequencies. The effect of the cutoff frequency will vary according to the selected filter type. Volume Blocked frequencies Passed frequencies Blocked frequencies 2 RESONANCE Knob 2] Relative [Settings] -64 ~ +63 Center frequency Frequency Frequencies around the center frequency are passed, while all other frequencies are blocked. 2 Produces a resonant peak centered at the filter's cutoff frequency. When the BPF filter type is selected, higher resonance settings produce a narrower passband at the cutoff frequency. When the BEF filter type is selected, higher resonance settings produce a narrower elimination band at the cutoff frequency. BEF Band-elimination filter Volume Passed frequencies Blocked frequencies Passed frequencies The Pattern Mode NOTE Increasing the resonance excessively may cause some voices to distort. Center frequency Frequency 3 FILTER TYPE Knob 3] Absolute [Settings] BYPASS, LPF24, LPF18, LPF12, HPF, BPF, BEF BYPASS The filter is OFF. The filter type indicators on the panel will all be off. Sets the filter type. LPF24, LPF18, LPF12 ..... Low-pass filter Passed frequencies Blocked frequencies Frequencies around the center frequency are blocked, while all other frequencies are passed. NOTE Some 2-element voices use a different filter type for each element. The element-1 filter type is displayed by default. If the filter type is changed the filter types for both elements are changed. 4 ENV. DEPTH (Envelope Depth Knob 4] Relative [Settings] -64 ~ +63 Sets the depth of the filter envelope set via the FEG display (Page 101). Negative settings invert the filter envelope. Cutoff frequency Frequency Frequencies higher than the cutoff frequency are cut off. Three cutoff slopes are provided - 24 dB/oct, 18 dB/oct, and 12 dB/oct - each with its own distinct sound. HPF High-pass filter Volume Blocked frequencies Passed frequencies Cutoff frequency Frequency Frequencies lower than the cutoff frequency are cut off. RS7000 103
