1. Recording Samples (Sampling) NOTE • The DIGITAL and OPTICAL settings can only be effective when the optional AIEB2 I/O Expansion Board is installed. • When DIGITAL or OPTICAL is selected the digital input signal will simultaneously be output via the OUTPUT connector, while the sound produced by the RS7000 will be output via the DIGITAL OUT and OPTICAL OUT connectors. • Resampling allows samples to be re-recorded after application of filtering, effects, and other processing. The RS7000 allows the output from sequencer tracks to be resampled, new samples can be created from complex combination of multiple samples and sequence data. The entire content of a pattern can be easily turned into a single sample. When resampling it is necessary to select the sampling destination track (the selected destination track will not play or be sampled). 4 MONO/STEREO Knob 4] [Settings] MONO L, MONO R, MONO L+R, STEREO MONO L The L-channel signal will be recorded as a mono sample. MONO R The R-channel signal will be recorded as a mono sample. MONO L+R ....... The L-channel and R-channel signals will be mixed and recorded as a mono sample. STEREO A stereo sample will be recorded. Only the STEREO option will be available when the DIGITAL or OPTICAL source is selected. Specifies whether the input signal will be recorded as a mono or stereo sample. 5 OK F4] Calls the sampling standby page and engages the sampling standby mode. Pressing [STANDBY/START/STOP] has the same effect. Sampling Standby Page [STANDBY/START/STOP] → [F4] or [STANDBY/START/STOP] When this display is showing pressing the [STANDBY/START/ STOP] executes sample recording, calling the Sampling Execution page (Page 234) or the trigger wait page (Page 233). MEASURE ........Sampling will begin at the specified punch-in measure, and end at the specified punch-out measure. MANUAL...........Sampling will begin as soon as the [STANDBY/START/STOP] button is pressed. Specifies the method by which sampling will be triggered. NOTE When the SLICE+SEQ sample type is selected and you want to accurately slice the sample according to the specified note length, it is best to set the TRIGGER MODE to MEASURE. 232 RS7000

The L-channel signal will be recorded
as a mono sample.
MONO R
...........
The R-channel signal will be recorded
as a mono sample.
MONO L+R
.......
The L-channel and R-channel signals
will be mixed and recorded as a mono
sample.
STEREO

A stereo sample will be recorded.
Only the STEREO option will be avail-
able when the DIGITAL or OPTICAL
source is selected.
Specifies whether the input signal will be recorded as a mono
or stereo sample.

specified punch-out measure.
MANUAL
...........
Sampling will begin as soon as the
[STANDBY/START/STOP] button is

Specifies the method by which sampling will be triggered.
NOTE
The DIGITAL and OPTICAL settings can only
