Managing Your IPSAN Mirroring an Existing Target You can mirror an existing iSCSI target from either a local pool or a remote pool. (To create a mirror with new targets, see Creating a Mirror with New iSCSI Targets on page 6-25.) To mirror an existing iSCSI target: 1 In the Tree Menu, click on the iSCSI Subsystem you want, then click iSCSI Targets. 2 In the Application Window, click on the iSCSI target you want. The Target Information window opens, as shown on page 6-24. 3 Click Mirror Target. The Add Facet window opens, showing all local and remote pools that may be used for mirroring. (A facet is part of a mirror; a mirror must have at least two facets.) 4 Click the pool to use to add the mirror facet. You can select either a local pool or a remote pool, depending on your license key. (See About Your Adaptec Storage Manager License on page 1-4 for more information.) If you select a local pool, the mirror you create will be a local mirror. If you select a remote pool, the mirror you create will be a remote mirror. Remote mirrors offer a high level of reliability and are extremely valuable as part of a disaster recovery plan. Note: While supported, dynamic discovery is not recommended as some IP routers and switches do not allow certain discovery information to be passed between iSCSI subsystems. 6-29
