Managing Your IPSAN 3 Select the new server from the drop-down menu, then click Next. 4 Select the mount point. The mount point is a drive letter. When the volume is reassigned, it appears as space on that existing drive letter. 5 Click OK to reassign the volume. Taking a Snapshot of a Volume A snapshot is a frozen image of a volume at a particular point in time. You can only create snapshots if you have sufficient available space within a storage pool. Note: Snapshots are similar to backups, but are not a substitute for regular backups. To take a snapshot of a volume: 1 In the Tree Menu, click on the server that contains the volume you want to take a snapshot of, then click Automation. 2 In the Server Storage window, select the volume you want a snapshot of, then click Snapshot Volume. The Snapshot Creation window opens. 6-6
