Getting Started Quickly Installing Adaptec Storage Manager on iSCSI Stations Follow the instructions in this section to install Adaptec Storage Manager on the iSCSI Stations of your IPSAN. To install Adaptec Storage Manger on an iSCSI Station: 1 Close all open applications and disable any anti-virus utilities. 2 Insert the Adaptec iSA1500 CD into the CD-ROM drive. The Setup program opens automatically. (If the Setup program does not open, double-click the Setup.exe icon on the CD to begin setup and installation. 3 When the Welcome screen appears, click Next. 4 Select I accept the terms..., then click Next. 5 In the Setup Type window (see page 3-11), select iSCSI Station, then click Next. (If your iSCSI Station will also be the Management Station, see Step 5 on page 3-12 to continue.) Note: Microsoft DiskPart must be installed before the Adaptec Storage Manager installation can continue. See Installing Microsoft DiskPart on page 3-10 for more information. 6 Click Next, then click Install. 7 When the installation is complete, click Finish. 8 Re-enable your anti-virus utilities, if required. 9 Repeat Step 1 to 7 on every iSCSI station on your IPSAN. Custom Installations If you want to customize the installation and have control over which specific components are installed, select the Custom setup type (shown in the Figure on page 3-11) during installation. However, Adaptec recommends that only advanced users choose to customize the software installation. 3-13
