Managing Your IPSAN Rolling Back a Volume You can use a volume snapshot (see Taking a Snapshot of a Volume on page 6-6) to roll back the contents of a volume to the point in time when the snapshot was taken. This option is useful for undoing changes. ! Caution: When you roll back a volume, you lose all changes made after the selected snapshot was taken. To roll back a volume: 1 In the Tree Menu, click on the server that contains the volume you want to roll back, then click Automation. 2 In the Server Storage window, select the volume to roll back, then click Rollback Volume. The Snapshot Rollback window opens. ! Caution: To avoid losing data, stop work on the volume before continuing. 3 Select the snapshot you wish to roll back to, then click OK. The snapshot rollback job is tracked in the Job Details window, which you can access by clicking the Jobs button on the Adaptec Storage Manager toolbar. Note: If your iSCSI Station does not have WMI, you can use the Event Log to track the progress of the snapshot rollback. When the job is complete, the contents of the volume have rolled back to the point in time when the snapshot was taken. 6-9

Rolling Back a Volume
You can use a volume snapshot (see
Taking a Snapshot of a Volume
on
page 6-6
) to
roll back
the contents of a volume to the point in time
when the snapshot was taken. This option is useful for undoing
changes.
Caution:
When you roll back a volume, you lose all changes
made after the selected snapshot was taken.
To roll back a volume:

In the Tree Menu, click on the server that contains the volume
you want to roll back, then click
Automation
.

In the Server Storage window, select the volume to roll back,
then click
Rollback Volume
.
The Snapshot Rollback window opens.
Caution:
To avoid losing data, stop work on the volume
before continuing.

Select the snapshot you wish to roll back to, then click
OK
.
The snapshot rollback job is tracked in the Job Details window,
which you can access by clicking the
Jobs
button on the
Adaptec Storage Manager toolbar.
