Getting Started Quickly 2 Type password operator, then press Enter. 3 Type a new operator password. When prompted, enter the password again. 4 Type quit, then press Enter to log out of the Administrator console. You can complete all further configuration and management functions using Adaptec Storage Manager. See Installing the Software on page 3-9 to continue. Installing the Initiator After you have completed the configurations, install your initiator if you have not already done so. For information on specific technical requirements, refer to the Adaptec Web site at www.adaptec.com. Installing the Software The next installation task is to install Microsoft iSCSI Service, Microsoft DiskPart, and Adaptec Storage Manager. Note: To use Adaptec Storage Manager to configure and manage your IPSAN, you must have a Management Station running Windows with Adaptec Storage Manager installed. To configure and manage storage on servers using other operating systems, you must use the CLI. (See Chapter 8, Using CLI.) For the most up-to-date list of supported operating systems, refer to the Adaptec Web site at www.adaptec.com. Microsoft iSCSI Service and Microsoft DiskPart must be installed on every server that will be an iSCSI Station on your IPSAN. ■ To install Microsoft iSCSI Service, see page 3-10. ■ To install Microsoft DiskPart, see page 3-10. ■ To install Adaptec Storage Manager on your Management Station, see page 3-11. ■ To install Adaptec Storage Manager on your iSCSI Stations, see page 3-13 3-9
