Managing Your IPSAN Adding a Disk Drive to a Storage Pool You can add a disk drive to a non-RAID storage pool to increase the capacity of the pool. Note: When no disks are available for use, you can't add disk drives to a storage pool. Consider removing a disk drive from one storage pool to make it available to another storage pool. (See Removing a Disk Drive From a Storage Pool on page 6-18 for instructions.) To add a disk drive: 1 In the Tree Menu, click on the iSCSI Subsystem you want, then click Storage Pools. 2 In the Application Window, click the pool to which you want to add a disk drive. 3 Click Add Disk. The Add Pool Disk window opens. 4 Select the disk drive (or drives) you want to add to the storage pool, then click OK. The capacity of the pool increases by the capacity of the added disk drive(s). 6-17

Adding a Disk Drive to a Storage Pool
You can add a disk drive to a non-RAID storage pool to increase
the capacity of the pool.
Note:
When no disks are available for use, you can’t add disk
drives to a storage pool. Consider removing a disk drive from
one storage pool to make it available to another storage pool.

To add a disk drive:

In the Tree Menu, click on the iSCSI Subsystem you want, then
click
Storage Pools
.

In the Application Window, click the pool to which you want to
add a disk drive.

Click
Add Disk
.
The Add Pool Disk window opens.

Select the disk drive (or drives) you want to add to the storage
pool, then click
OK
.
The capacity of the pool increases by the capacity of the added
disk drive(s).
