Different Size Originals This mode enables you to copy differently sized originals with the same widths or different widths, together as one group, by placing them in the feeder. 2 IMPORTANT • When the machine is operating in the Different Size Originals mode, you cannot use the Book 2-Sided, Two-page Separation, Image Combination, Image Separation, Booklet, or Image Repeat modes. Additional Copy Functions • All originals placed together in the feeder must be the same weight (paper type). • When placing originals of different widths, align the top edge of the originals with the back edge of the feeder. • Set originals of different sizes in the feeder as follows. Other combinations may damage the originals. - 11" x 17" and LGL, LTR and LGL, LTR and LTRR. • When you place originals with different widths, the originals may move slightly when fed to the platen glass. As a result, the images may be scanned and copied as slanted. • You cannot set Automatic Paper Selection when you select the Different Size Originals mode in combination with the Shift or Cover/Sheet Insertion modes. • If you place originals with different widths and specify that the width of each copy must match the width of the corresponding original, stapling cannot be performed. • Auto Orientation will not be performed when you set the Different Size Originals mode. • When the machine is operating in the Different Size Originals mode, the scanning speed is somewhat slower than for other modes. NOTE When the machine is operating in the Different Size Originals mode together with the 1 2-Sided feature, two-sided copying cannot be performed. The differently sized originals are printed as one-sided copies on their respective paper sizes. 2-52 Different Size Originals
