Automatic Paper Selection Once you place your original on the platen glass or in the feeder, the machine automatically selects the appropriate paper size for copying. IMPORTANT 1 • When the machine is operating in the Automatic Paper Selection mode, you cannot use the Auto Copy Ratio, Auto XY Zoom, Saddle Stitch, Image Combination, Image Separation, Booklet, or Image Repeat (Auto) modes. Basic Copying • When the machine is operating in the Different Size Originals mode in combination with the Shift mode or the Cover/Sheet Insertion mode, you cannot use the Automatic Paper Selection mode. • The following types of originals cannot be copied using the Automatic Paper Selection mode. Copy these originals using the Manual Paper Selection mode: - Nonstandard sized originals - Highly transparent originals, such as transparencies - Originals with an extremely dark background - Originals smaller than STMT NOTE • The default setting is 'Auto'. • When Drawer Eligibility for APS/ADS of the paper drawers in Common Settings (from the Additional Functions screen) is set to 'Off', you cannot make copies in the Automatic Paper Selection mode.
