Preparing the Computer for Shipping or Travel Before you ship or travel with the computer: 1. If applicable to the destination(s), review the guidelines on temperature, relative humidity, altitude, and input power in Appendix D, "Specifications." 2. Back up all important hard drive files onto diskettes, tape media, or another computer. 3. Remove any PC Card, diskette, or CD that is in the computer. 4. Shut down the computer and turn off external devices. 5. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 6. Close the display and all exterior doors on the computer. Do not place objects between the keyboard and the display. 7. Place the computer in the slipcase supplied with the computer. Do not place other objects in the slipcase along with the computer. 8. If you are shipping the computer and external devices, pack them in their original packing boxes or in similar boxes that contain protective packing materials. 9. Before you ship or travel with the computer:
1. If applicable to the destination(s), review the guidelines on
temperature, relative humidity, altitude, and input power in
Appendix D, “Specifications.”
