Using Battery Meter The battery meter feature enables you to place an informative icon in the system tray on the Windows taskbar. You can then use the icon to view some power information at a glance or to view additional battery information by using the mouse cursor or a single, right, or double click. To display the battery meter icon, click StartÆ SettingsÆControl PanelÆdouble-click the Power icon ÆPower tab. Check Show Battery Meter on the Taskbar, then click OK to save your preference and close Power Properties. If you are running Windows 95, the icon that appears in the system tray on the taskbar displays some information by its appearance, as described in the following table. Appearance Power cord plug Full battery Half-full battery Empty battery Battery Meter Icon Condition Represented The computer is running on external power. The computer is running on a battery pack and is in a full battery condition. The battery pack is at or near a full charge. The computer is running on a battery pack and is in a halfbattery condition. The battery pack has partially discharged but has not reached a lowbattery condition. The computer is running on a battery pack and is in a lowbattery or a critical low-battery condition. Using Battery Meter
The battery meter feature enables you to place an informative icon
in the system tray on the Windows taskbar. You can then use the
icon to view some power information at a glance or to view
additional battery information by using the mouse cursor or a
single, right, or double click.
To display the battery meter icon, click Start
