Solving Diskette and Diskette Drive Problems Continued Problem Possible Cause Solution Cannot boot from a diskette. Bootable diskette is not in computer MultiBay or is not first diskette in the MultiBoot order. Verify the diskette has the system files necessary to boot. Run Computer Setup and verify the MultiBoot order under Boot Management. (Refer to "Using Boot Management" in Chapter 6.) Diskette boot ability is disabled in Computer Setup. Run Computer Setup and enable Diskette Boot Ability under Boot Management. Solving Display Problems This section lists some common causes and solutions for computer display and external monitor problems To perform a monitor self-test on an external VGA color or monochrome monitor: 1. Switch to the internal display. 2. Turn off the external monitor. 3. Disconnect the external monitor signal cable from the computer. 4. Turn on the monitor and allow it to warm up for 1 minute.
