7 chapter CONNECTING EXTERNAL DESKTOP EQUIPMENT This chapter identifies the external connectors on the computer and tells how to connect the following external options: s PS/2-compatible keyboard, numeric keypad, mouse, or other pointing device s Parallel device, such as a printer or SCSI adapter s Serial device, such as a serial mouse or printer s Monitor or overhead projector s Infrared-equipped device that is InfraRed Data Association (IrDA)-compliant For information about connecting a modem, refer to Chapter 8, "Using a Modem." For information about connecting PC Cards, refer to Chapter 9, "Using PC Cards." For information about connecting audio equipment, refer to Chapter 10, "Using Audio Components."
