Command EXEC mode Modes Description Use this command to display the status and parameters of the Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) instance information. It includes the port roles, port states and port types. Usage Guidelines The following describes the port roles, states, and types: • Port roles-root port, designated port, alternate port, and backup port. • Port states-discarding, learning, and forwarding. • Port types-edge port (PortFast), point-to-point, and shared port.
