Operating Environment The electrical specifications listed in Chapter 1 must be maintained to ensure proper operation of this printer. Consider the following points before installing the printer. Install the printer in a well-ventilated, dust-free area, away from any open windows. Install the printer on a hard, flat and continuous surface, with all four printer feet level. Do not install on carpet or other soft surfaces. Ensure adequate, stable power is supplied. Printer power requirements are listed in table 1-5, "Electrical Specifications," on page 9. Install the printer where there is stable temperature and humidity, away from water sources, humidifiers, air conditioners, refrigerators, or other major appliances (see table 2-1 on page 49). Install the printer away from direct sunlight, open flames, or ammonia fumes. If the printer is placed near a window, make sure the window is closed and has a curtain or blind to block any direct sunlight. Install the printer with enough space around the printer for proper access and ventilation (see figure 2-1 on page 47). Install the printer away from the direct flow of exhaust from air ventilation, heating, or air conditioning systems. 46 Chapter 2 Site Requirements EN
