The InfiniBand fabric is documented in the HP Cluster Platform InfiniBand Interconnect Installation and User's Guide. All cables are factory installed and secured with cable management brackets to minimize movement during shipping. Check to make sure that all connections are properly seated before powering on the cluster. CPE BladeSystem with c7000 configurations will support an optional InfiniBand infrastructure as the system interconnect. The InfiniBand network is added in addition to the Gigabit Ethernet network. CPE c-Class BladeSystem configurations that use InfiniBand will have an InfiniBand module or modules installed in each c-Class enclosure and they will have an InfiniBand mezzanine HCA installed in a mezzanine slot of each server blade. The completed InfiniBand cabling for CPE BladeSystems with c7000 enclosure will look similar to that shown in Figure 1-6. Note the InfiniBand cables run from an external InfiniBand interconnect to the HP c-Class InfiniBand switch modules installed in the HP BladeSystem c7000 enclosures. Cabling for a CPE BladeSystem with the new HP BLc 4X DDR InfiniBand Gen2 Switch is not shown. However, the InfiniBand cabling tables in Appendix D include the point-to-point connections for CPE BladeSystems with the new c-Class InfiniBand Gen2 switch. 20 Cluster Platform Express Overview
