Note: The HP BladeSystem c3000 enclosure is not documented in the HP BladeSystem Site Planning Guide. However, the site preparation procedures for CP Workgroup System are similar to the site preparation procedures as currently described in the HP BladeSystem Site Planning Guide and the HP Cluster Platform Site Preparation Guide. See Appendix E for more information about the power configuration for CP Workgroup System. 2.3 Unpacking and Removing CPE Systems from a Shock Pallet A preconfigured CPE cluster can weigh several hundred pounds (or kilos). The Best Practices for HP 10000 Series and HP 10000 G2 Series Racks white paper provides important information on unpacking the rack and removing it from its shock pallet. When unpacking and removing a CPE system from a shock pallet, follow the safety instructions described in that white paper: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00883424/c00883424.pdf Note: The instructions to remove a rack from a shock pallet are also printed on the side of the cardboard packaging. 2.4 Installation and Start-up The CP Workgroup System is cabled and ready to be powered on. HP recommends that you check all of the cable connections to make sure that they are seated properly before powering on the cluster. If a cable is loose or not connected, see the Appendix B for the cabling information to make the necessary connections. Warning! Adhere to the point-to-point cabling tables and do not change the configuration. Doing so might result in poor performance, system failure, or damage to the system. To power on your system after you have checked the cabling, follow these steps: 1. Connect the power cables to the power supply, if necessary. 2. Connect the power cables to the power source or to a PDU in the cabinet. 3. Turn on the AC circuit breakers that supply power to the cables installed in the enclosure (see Section 1.4.2). The CP Workgroup System is factory tested prior to shipment to your site. Operating system software is installed at the factory. For more information on setting up the enclosure and powering on the system, see the HP BladeSystem c3000 Enclosure Quick Setup Instructions: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01167169/c01167169.pdf CP Workgroup System configurations ship with the rack components installed. If you intend to upgrade the enclosure, HP recommends that you read the HP BladeSystem c-Class Enclosure User Guide before moving on to HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator (OA) setup. Reading this guide in order ensures that you will obtain an overall understanding of the HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator, and that you properly complete the initial setup to facilitate proper functioning of the Onboard Administrator. For more information, see the HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator User Guide: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00705292/c00705292.pdf For more information on the command-line interface, see the HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator Command Line Interface User Guide: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00702815/c00702815.pdf 40 Cluster Platform Workgroup System
