Chapter 8. Removal and Replacement Procedures Chapter 8.1 Introduction Before starting the removal procedures, review Chapter 7, "Illustrated Parts Catalog," to become familiar with the various part numbers and locations. After completing all removal and replacement procedures, run the DIAGNOSTICS Program on the COMPAQ PORTABLE 386 Personal Computer to verify the proper operation of the replaced component. Chapter 8.2 Preparation Procedure Before beginning the procedures in this chapter, complete the following steps: 1. Turn off the computer. 2.
