(The name of this Boot Image file will always be NET$DOS.SYS): a Start the Administrator Workstation. b Log onto the LAN as SUPERVISOR. c Type MAP F:=SYS:SYSTEM d Type MAP G:=SYS:LOGIN e Change to the SYS:LOGIN directory by typing G: f Insert the bootable diskette into drive A. g Run DOSGEN by typing F:DOSGEN DOSGEN will create a Boot Image file called NET$DOS.SYS (containing a copy of the files on the bootable diskette) in the SYS:LOGIN directory. 5 Make the NET$DOS.SYS file in SYS:LOGIN shareable by typing FLAG NET$DOS.SYS S 6 If required, give the Modify capability to the remote boot user in SYS:LOGIN by typing GRANT M TO Username At this point, the PC should be able to start from the server without using the PC's flexible or hard disk (the server should already be set up). copy of the files on the bootable diskette) in the SYS:LOGIN directory.

Make the NET$DOS.SYS file in SYS:LOGIN shareable by typing
FLAG
NET$DOS.SYS S

If required, give the Modify capability to the remote boot user in SYS:LOGIN by
typing
GRANT M TO Username
At this point, the PC should be able to start from the server without using the PC's
flexible or hard disk (the server should already be set up).
If a Login script
Username
has been assigned to the user, it will be executed at the
end of the AUTOEXEC.BAT file created above.
