Select whether to create a rule that is based on a source MAC address or destination MAC address: • Source MAC address. Next to Select Devices Based on Source MAC Address, select one of the following active links: - Permit. Creates a rule that permits a source MAC address. - Deny. Creates a rule that prohibits a source MAC address. The Source MAC Address Rules screen displays. • Destination MAC address. Next to Select Devices Based on Destination MAC Address, select one of the following active links: - Permit. Creates a rule that permits a destination MAC address. - Deny. Creates a rule that prohibits a destination MAC address. The Destination MAC Address Rules screen displays. The following figure shows the Source MAC Address Rules screen with the Deny action selected. If you select the Permit action, the fields are the same, except that the CPU Notification Mode menu is masked out. The Destination MAC Address Rules screen is identical to the Source MAC Address Rules screen, with the only exception that it shows Destination MAC and Destination MAC Mask fields instead of Source MAC and Source MAC Mask fields. 6. From the ACL Name menu, select the ACL name that you have defined on the MAC ACL screen and for which you want to add a rule. The rule that you are creating applies to the selected MAC ACL only.
