ProSAFE FS526Tv2, FS726Tv2, and FS728TLP Smart Switches Configure a Voice VLAN VLAN 2 is the preconfigured voice VLAN without any preconfigured members. To help ensure that the sound quality of an IP phone is safeguarded from deteriorating if the data traffic on the port is high, configure the voice VLAN settings for ports that carry traffic from IP phones. Configure Global Voice VLAN Properties The global voice VLAN properties include the voice VLAN ID (by default, VLAN 2), Class of Service (CoS) on the VLAN, reassignment of the CoS tag value, and voice VLAN aging time. By default, the voice VLAN is enabled. However, if the smart switch does not process voice traffic, you can globally disable the voice VLAN. To configure the global voice VLAN properties: 1. Select Switching > Voice VLAN > Basic > Properties. The Properties screen displays. 2. Configure the settings as described in the following table. Setting Voice VLAN ID Class of Service Description Select a VLAN ID from the Voice VLAN ID menu. The VLAN IDs that are shown in the menu list are the ones that are defined on the VLAN Configuration screen (see Configure VLANs on page 80). You cannot select 1 as the voice VLAN ID. From the Class of Service menu, select the Class of Service (CoS) for packets that arrive over the voice VLAN. You can select from 0 through 7, with 7 as the highest priority.
