GS700TS Smart Switch Software Administration Manual - SNMPv3 - SNMPv3 is defined for the group. • Security Level - Select the security level attached to the group. Security levels apply to SNMPv3 only. The possible field values are: - No Authentication - Neither the Authentication nor the Privacy security levels are assigned to the group. - Authentication - Authenticates SNMP messages and ensures that the SNMP message's origin is authenticated. - Privacy - Encrypts SNMP messages. • Operation - Select the group access rights. The possible field values are: - Read - Management access is restricted to read-only. Changes are made to the assigned SNMP view. - Write - Management access is read-write. Changes are made to the assigned SNMP view. - Notify - Sends traps for the assigned SNMP view. 2. Select the SNMP group entry. 3. Select the Security Model and Security Level from the lists in the provided fields in the first row. 4. Specify the group access rights for the selected SNMP views in the Operation provided fields in the first row. 5. Click APPLY to update the device. To add a new SNMPv3 group: 1. Click System > SNMP > SNMPv3 > Group Configuration. The SNMPv3 Groups screen displays. 2. Select the Security Model and Security Level from the lists in the provided fields in the first row. 3. Specify the group access rights for the selected SNMP views in the Operation provided fields in the first row. 4. Click ADD to update the device. To remove an SNMPv3 group: 1. SNMPv3 – SNMPv3 is defined for the group.
Security Level
– Select the security level attached to the group. Security levels apply to
SNMPv3 only. The possible field values are:
No Authentication – Neither the Authentication nor the Privacy security levels are
assigned to the group.
Authentication – Authenticates SNMP messages and ensures that the SNMP
message’s origin is authenticated.
Privacy – Encrypts SNMP messages.
Operation
– Select the group access rights. The possible field values are:
Read – Management access is restricted to read-only. Changes are made to the
assigned SNMP view.
Write – Management access is read-write. Changes are made to the assigned SNMP
view.
Notify – Sends traps for the assigned SNMP view.
