Applications & Tools Digit Dialing To dial a telephone number: 1. Tap the Start menu bar, and then tap Programs. 2. Tap the VoiceSignal. "Say a command" appears at the top center of the screen and is announced through the speaker. 3. Say "Call." The phone prompts, "Say the name or number." 4. Say the number naturally and clearly. The phone may display one or more names on the screen and prompts "Did you say?" 5. To confirm the number you spoke, wait for the beep and then say "Yes," or choose the correct name from the choice list using your navigation key. 6. The phone dials the number. Adapting Digits Voice dialing works well for most people without special adaptation. However, people with strong accents or unique voice characteristics may receive better results after adapting the system to match their voices. Note: You should adapt Digit Dial only if the system is frequently unable to recognize your speech. After you adapt Digit Dial, your phone is customized to your voice, and your voice only. Others will not be able to use it unless they reset the phone to factory defaults. Adaptation involves recording several digit sequences to adapt the system to the unique properties of your voice. The adaptation process takes about three minutes. Section 2F: Using the Phone's Applications and Tools 131
