xStack® DGS-3120 Series Managed Switch Web UI Reference Guide Figure 3-39 SNMP Engine ID Settings window The fields that can be configured are described below: Parameter Description Engine ID To change the Engine ID, type the new Engine ID value in the space provided. The SNMP engine ID displays the identification of the SNMP engine on the Switch. The default value is suggested in RFC2271. The very first bit is 1, and the first four octets are set to the binary equivalent of the agent's SNMP management private enterprise number as assigned by IANA (D-Link is 171). The fifth octet is 03 to indicate the rest is the MAC address of this device. The sixth to eleventh octets is the MAC address. Click the Apply button to accept the changes made. NOTE: The Engine ID length is 10-64 and accepted characters can range from 0 to F. SNMP User Table Settings This window displays all of the SNMP User's currently configured on the Switch. To view the following window, click Management > SNMP Settings > SNMP User Table Settings, as show below: Figure 3-40 SNMP User Table Settings window The fields that can be configured are described below: Parameter Description User Name Group Name SNMP Version SNMP V3 Encryption Auth-Protocol An alphanumeric string of up to 32 characters. This is used to identify the SNMP users. This name is used to specify the SNMP group created can request SNMP messages. V3 - Indicates that SNMP version 3 is in use. Use the drop-down menu to enable encryption for SNMP V3. This is only operable in SNMP V3 mode. The choices are None, Password, or Key. MD5 - Specify that the HMAC-MD5-96 authentication level will be used. This field is 51
