Printing Problems Problem Characters belonging to a different symbol set are being printed. Some or all of the output is garbled or printed as asterisks. Graphic images do not print. Solution The expected symbol set may not be available in the printer. Be sure you have installed the correct font cartridge or have downloaded the correct soft font. The correct symbol set may not be selected. Specify the desired symbol set with your software or with SelecType. See Appendix A for information on symbol sets. The interface cable may not be plugged in completely. Make sure that both ends of the cable are plugged in securely. The interface may not be configured correctly. If you are using a serial interface, make sure that your serial interface settings are set correctly in SelecType and that they match the settings for your computer. See Chapter 3 for details. Try running a self test print as described in Chapter 2. If this fails to print correctly, call 1-800-922-8911 for a referral to an Epson Customer Care Center. You may not have the correct printer driver installed. If you try to print with a software package set for another printer, nothing will be printed.
