Paper Feed Methods 4. Insert a sheet of paper into the manual feed slot, gently pushing it in as far as it can go. Note: Insert the paper with the side you want to print on face-up. For example, to print on the back of a printed page, load the paper with the blank side face-up. 5. Slide the manual feed guides together until they are both resting lightly against the paper. 6. For envelopes and paper weights of 27 to 34 lb. (101 to 128 g/m2), press the SPECIAL button. A pound sign (#) appears at the right of the display when you press this button. 7. For transparencies, mailing labels, envelopes, and thick paper, set the paper path selector to the down position for face-up delivery. 8. Press the ON LINE button to set the printer on line. 9.
